CBI Process

Old Testament (OT) is Year One of the CBI certification process. We begin with an Orientation that explains the requirements of the process and introduces the participants to Bible Basics, Catholic Biblical Interpretation and a comprehensive introduction to the study of and reflection on the Old Testament.

A full refund will be issued for withdrawal before the August 24 Orientation.
A refund less $50 administrative fee will be issued until November 8, 2024 11:59pm.
No further refunds will be issued after the November date.

  • February 8, 2025 – Into Exile: 1st Isaiah, Jeremiah, Ezekiel, Lamentations, Ecclesiastes – Daniel Smith-Christopher, Loyola Marymount University
  • March 15, 2025 – Return and Rebuilding: 2nd and 3rd Isaiah, Ezra, Nehemiah – Jina Kang, McCormick Theological Seminary
  • April 26, 2025 – Second Temple and Apocalyptic Tradition: Daniel, Esther, 1 & 2 Maccabees, Tobit, Judith, Baruch – Andre Villeneuve, Sacred Heart Major Seminary
  • May 17, 2025 – Wisdom Literature: Job, Proverbs, Song of Songs, Book of Wisdom, Ecclesiasticus/Ben Sira – Anthony Pagliarini, University of Notre Dame
