Pastoral Regions

There are five pastoral regions in the Archdiocese of Los Angeles. They were established in 1986.​

Our Lady of the Angels

The Our Lady of the Angels Pastoral Region (OLAPR) is a pastoral region of the Archdiocese of Los Angeles. It covers Downtown, Central Los Angeles, west to Malibu. It covers Deaneries 13-16 and has 77 Parishes, 12 High schools, 48 Elementary Schools, 2 hospitals, and 4 Parochial Missions. The region is home to over 1 million Catholics. The current regional auxiliary is Bishop Matthew G. Elshoff, OFM Cap.

San Fernando

The San Fernando Pastoral Region (SFPR) is a pastoral region of the Archdiocese of Los Angeles. It covers the San Fernando, Santa Clarita, and Antelope Valleys. It covers Deaneries 5-8 and has 54 Parishes, 12 High schools, 3 hospitals, and 1 Spanish Mission. The region is home to over 1 million Catholics.  The former regional auxiliary bishop, Bishop Joseph Brennan, was installed as the Sixth Bishop of the Diocese of Fresno on May 2, 2019. The Most Reverend Alejandro Aclan was the regional auxiliary bishop of the San Fernando Pastoral Region from 2019-2023. The current regional auxiliary bishop is Bishop Albert M. Bahhuth.

San Gabriel

The San Gabriel Pastoral Region (SGPR) is a pastoral region of the Archdiocese of Los Angeles. It covers East Los Angeles through San Gabriel and Pomona Valleys. It covers Deaneries 9-12 and has 66 Parishes, 13 High schools, 3 hospitals, and 1 Spanish Mission. The current regional auxiliary bishop is Bishop Brian A. Nunes.

San Pedro

The San Pedro Pastoral Region (SPPR) is a pastoral region of the Archdiocese of Los Angeles. It covers Long Beach and Southern Los Angeles County. It covers Deaneries 17-20 and has 67 Parishes, 8 High schools, 4 hospitals, and 1 Parochial Mission. The current regional auxiliary bishop is Bishop Marc V. Trudeau.

Santa Barbara

The Santa Barbara Pastoral Region (SBPR) is a pastoral region of the Archdiocese of Los Angeles. It covers Santa Barbara and Ventura Counties. It covers Deaneries 1-4 and has 37 Parishes, 6 High schools, 3 hospitals, and 4 Spanish Missions. The region is home to over 1 million Catholics. The current regional auxiliary bishop is Bishop Reverend Slawomir Szkredka.
