CBI Certification

Certification is for people who want or need to be certified by the Archdiocese of Los Angeles in Bible Study Leadership. This requires completion of all the readings, monthly written reflections, attendance at the CBI sessions, and participation in small group discussions.

Certification candidates are accepted every two years in Year One: Old Testament.

CBI has a longstanding collaboration with Loyola Marymount Center for Religion and Spirituality (LMU CRS). For those who successfully complete all the requirements of the Old and New Testament years, LMU CRS will issue a graduation certificate at a ceremony held in Sacred Heart Chapel on the LMU Campus.

Certification by the Archdiocese requires completion of three years. September following completion of three years each candidate will be commissioned by the Archdiocese of Los Angeles as Certified Bible Study Leaders in a Commissioning Ceremony at the Cathedral of Our Lady of the Angeles.
