The Archdiocese of Los Angeles is a tapestry of many peoples and cultures with a common thread joining us as one: one mission to proclaim the Gospel of Jesus Christ and one Catholic faith to be believed, celebrated, and lived. One Mission One Faith is a basic ministry formation process for anyone who serves in the life of the Church.

The goal of One Mission One Faith is growth as a missionary disciple of Jesus Christ and formation as a parish minister. Participants will ground their ministry in a deeper understanding and intentional living of their Catholic faith. Participants can participate towards the California Catechist certification from the Archdiocese of Los Angeles (Certification-Track), or they can participate for their ongoing faith formation (Enrichment-Track).

Participants who complete this process will:
  • Grow in love and knowledge of God
  • Understand the Word of God and basic Catholic teachings
  • Integrate the Word and Catholic teaching with life, prayer, and ministry
  • Develop skills to serve effectively in ministry
  • Share their faith in Jesus Christ with greater clarity and confidence

One Mission One Faith – OMOF process consists of five units, each unit is structured with two to seven sessions. The formation is through a hybrid online format. A combination of Zoom Live and Online sessions, modeling accompaniment and forming online community. The Zoom meetings for teaching sessions are three hour long and integration sessions are two hour long. The online sessions run for one week each and are asynchronous, meaning you participate on your own schedule on the scheduled online weeks.
