Eucharistic Revival

Nourished by the Eucharist, send us forth to walk faithfully as missionary disciples.

2024 Regional Presentation
“I am the living bread that came down from heaven; whoever eats this bread will live forever; and the bread that I will give is my flesh for the life of the world.”

-John 6:51

Three years ago, the United States Conference of Catholic Bishops launched the National Eucharistic Revival, the high point of which was the National Eucharistic Congress in Indianapolis last summer.  As the culmination of this three-year initiative, the National Eucharistic Pilgrimage will start in Indianapolis on May 18, 2025 and end in Los Angeles.  Eight perpetual pilgrims will travel with the Blessed Sacrament across the country, logging 3,340 miles and passing through 20 dioceses.  The Archdiocese of Los Angeles is eager to welcome the pilgrims to the West Coast, along with visitors from neighboring dioceses!

On Friday, June 20, 2025, the pilgrimage will travel up the coast to Mission Basilica San Buenaventura and then to Sacred Heart Church in Altadena.  The next day, Saturday, June 21, it will stop at St. Vincent de Paul Church and end at Mission San Gabriel.  Finally, on Sunday, June 22, the Solemnity of the Most Holy Body and Blood of Christ, the Cathedral of Our Lady of the Angels will host the Corpus Christi Celebration, with Mass and a Eucharistic procession through downtown Los Angeles.

Revival is not something we do; it is an act of God himself.  We pray that in response to our prayer, the Holy Spirit stirs up revival in the Church by which many come to encounter Jesus anew or for the first time in the Most Holy Eucharist.

“We should be living every day with eucharistic wonder. In giving us the Eucharist, Jesus gives us a vision for seeing the world and our place in it. And in giving us the Eucharist, Jesus gives our lives a mission.”

The Importance of Eucharistic Adoration

Eucharistic Devotion

Holy hours are the Roman Catholic devotional tradition of spending an hour in Eucharistic Adoration in the presence of the Blessed Sacrament. The U.S. bishops have created a variety of holy hours that focus our prayer to Jesus Christ on peace, life, vocations, and other topics that are at the heart of the life of the Church and the world.

Jesus is #TrulyPresent in the Eucharist. That is one of the tenants of our faith. But sadly, many people in the world, both Catholics and non-Catholics, don’t believe that this Sacrament is the body and blood of Christ. How can we ensure that we bring the truth to those who are yearning for it? By learning why we believe in His real presence and sharing it with others.

Use the resources below to learn what the Catholic Church, through the Gospel, the Catechism, the saints, and the Pope and Bishops, teaches regarding this reality.
