Prayer for Healing

Good and gracious God,

We come before you today – grateful for the commitment each person brings to the important work of abuse prevention and healing.

We ask your blessings upon all who are committed to abuse prevention – that they may know with confidence that their efforts are impactful and valued – that because of their commitment, vigilance and collaborative spirit, our church continues to be transformed, and authentic healing is happening.

We pray for those harmed by sexual abuse – that they may know the peace that comes from trusting in You and that they can see themselves through Your eyes, not the eyes of their offenders.

We pray for those impacted by the abuse of another – that they may be sustained as they strive to support those harmed in their healing journey – may they be strengthened by Your love and Christ-like in their ministering.

And we pray for our Church – that collectively, steadfastly, and courageously our efforts will manifest Your will in all You have called us to be and do. Send us your Holy Spirit and grace us with the courage to do as you would have us do, ever mindful of those in our midst who are most vulnerable.

We ask this prayer, as always, in the name of your Son, Our Savior, Jesus Christ.

Dios bueno y misericordioso,

Venimos ante ti hoy, agradecidos por los dones y las habilidades que cada persona aporta a la importante labor de prevención y sanación del abuso.

Pedimos tus bendiciones para todos los que están comprometidos con la prevención del abuso, para que sepan con confianza que sus esfuerzos son impactantes y valiosos, que, debido a su compromiso, vigilancia y espíritu colaborativo, nuestra Iglesia continúa transformándose y se está dando una sanación auténtica.

Oramos por aquellos que han sido dañados por el abuso sexual, para que puedan conocer la paz que viene de confiar en ti y que puedan verse a sí mismos a través de tus ojos, no de los ojos de sus agresores.

Oramos por aquellos afectados por el abuso de otra persona, para que puedan ser sostenidos mientras se esfuerzan por apoyar a los dañados en su camino de sanación, que sean fortalecidos por tu amor y que sean como Cristo en su ministerio.

Y oramos por toda nuestra Iglesia, para que colectivamente, con firmeza y valentía, nuestros esfuerzos manifiesten tu voluntad en todo lo que nos has llamado a ser y hacer. Envíanos tu Espíritu Santo y concédenos el coraje para hacer lo que tú quieres que hagamos, teniendo siempre presente a los más vulnerables que están entre nosotros.

Pedimos esta oración, como siempre, en el nombre de tu Hijo, nuestro Salvador, Jesucristo.
