St. Francis Xavier (SFX) School in Burbank is seeking a caring and faith-filled TK Teacher to join our Catholic school community.
This role is a wonderful opportunity to guide our youngest learners (ages 4–5) through a joyful and faith-centered year as they prepare for kindergarten. We are looking for a teacher who is:
- Compassionate and patient, able to meet children where they are and support different learning styles.
- Skilled in working with students who may be more active, need extra support, or learn in unique ways.
- Kind and steady, with the ability to create structure while still keeping learning fun and engaging.
- Comfortable partnering with parents and communicating with families about their child’s growth.
- Experienced in teaching young children, with a heart for Catholic education.
Key Responsibilities
Curriculum & Teaching
- Develop and teach lessons that mix early academics (reading, math, writing) with play-based, hands-on learning.
- Use creative approaches—like exploration, problem-solving, and inquiry—to keep children engaged and curious.
Inclusive Learning
- Adjust lessons and activities to fit different learning styles and developmental levels.
- Provide extra support so every child feels successful and included.
Assessment & Communication
- Observe, track, and celebrate each child’s progress.
- Share updates with families and partner with them to support student growth.
Classroom Environment
- Build a safe, caring, and structured classroom where children feel secure and excited to learn.
- Encourage independence, cooperation, and self-control through daily routines and social-emotional learning.
Collaboration
- Work with other teachers, aides, and staff to create a supportive learning environment.
- Actively involve families in the school experience.
Professional Growth
- Stay up to date on best practices for teaching young children.
- Continue learning about inclusive, play-based, and child-centered approaches.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Education or related field
- Valid California Teaching Credential or progress toward one
- Practicing Catholic with a strong commitment to faith-based education
- Excellent classroom management, organizational, and communication skills
- Demonstrated ability to foster a nurturing, student-centered, and faith-filled learning environment

Wage Range
The rate of pay offered to the selected candidate is based on internal pay policy and budget. New hires are commonly paid at the minimum of the wage range or within the lower part of the range. We consider a number of factors when making compensation decisions including, but not limited to, skill sets, experience, training and other department needs.
