Villanova Prep, a private, co-ed Catholic college preparatory school, grades 6-12, located in beautiful Ojai, California, is seeking an experienced full-time Social Studies teacher for the 2025-26 academic year.
Owned and operated by the Order of Saint Augustine, the religious community to which Pope Leo belongs, is accredited by the Western Catholic Education Association and the Western Association of Schools and Colleges. The Prep attracts highly talented and motivated students seeking a quality educational experience rooted in the Catholic Augustinian tradition.
Requirements
Villanova Prep seeks a qualified full-time Social Studies instructor who brings passion and excitement to the classroom and can teach multiple levels of the subject.
Major Areas of Responsibility:
- Be able to plan effective lessons that engage and challenge high school and middle school students.
- Communicate consistently and efficiently with students, parents, and school personnel.
- Keep current and complete grading and attendance records.
Required Qualifications:
- Commitment to modeling the values of Catholic education.
- Undergraduate degree in Social Sciences or related field.
- Experience teaching in a high school environment.
- Ability to work collaboratively to promote student learning.
- Strong interpersonal and team-building skills.
Desired Qualifications:
- Master’s Degree in Social Sciences or a related field.
- Ability to support non-native English speakers.
- Experience teaching AP-level Social Science courses.
- A California Single-Subject Credential in Social Science.
- Ability to teach in other subject areas.
- Experience with web-based learning and 1:1 iPad and/or MacBook in classroom settings.
- Experience teaching in a Catholic/Christian school environment.
The full-time salary range for this position is $53,000-$74,000. The starting salary is based upon, but not limited to, several factors that include type and years of experience, education level, and expertise.

Wage Range
The rate of pay offered to the selected candidate is based on internal pay policy and budget. New hires are commonly paid at the minimum of the wage range or within the lower part of the range. We consider a number of factors when making compensation decisions including, but not limited to, skill sets, experience, training and other department needs.
