Immaculate Heart is seeking a dynamic, creative, and highly organized Social Media Coordinator & Photographer to join our team on a temporary, part-time to full-time basis. This is an exciting opportunity for a visual storyteller with a keen eye for capturing student life, school spirit, and the vibrant culture of our historic all-girls Catholic middle and high school nestled at the base of Griffith Park. We’re looking for someone who can bring our brand to life across platforms, from crafting compelling content and covering campus events to championing our athletes, artists, and scholars online. DETAILED RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Reports to the Director of Marketing and Communications and the President.
  • Composes timely, engaging social media posts for Facebook, Instagram, Twitter/X, and other platforms, as appropriate and as directed by the Director of Marketing and Communications.
  • Attends and documents day-to-day school-wide activities, performances, and events, capturing and editing photos and videos for use on social media.
  • Develops and maintains a strategic content calendar that reflects school events, student achievements, athletics, arts, and community initiatives.
  • Ensures all content aligns with the school’s brand identity, values, and voice, and that it complies with student privacy guidelines and media release policies.
  • Monitors all social media platforms for engagement and references to Immaculate Heart, and responds to comments, mentions, and direct messages in a timely and professional manner.
  • Collaborates with faculty, staff, coaches, and student organizations to gather and curate content that highlights student life and campus culture.
  • Tracks and analyzes content performance and social media metrics to assess trends, inform content strategy, and provide regular reports to school leadership.
  • Upholds the visual and written brand across all platforms, ensuring consistency and professionalism in all digital communications.
  • Maintains an organized digital archive of media assets for future use in marketing, publications, and community outreach.
  • Ensures content reflects the diversity and inclusiveness of the school community, celebrating students from all backgrounds and interests.
  • Assists with other tasks as assigned by the Director of Marketing and Communications, the Principals, or the President.

ATHLETICS-SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Coordinates and conducts seasonal media days for all high school athletic teams, capturing team and individual athlete photos.
  • Designs and posts game day graphics, score updates, final score graphics, and other promotional materials to support athletic events.
  • Attends specified games, meets, and matches to capture action photos, record highlights, and document key moments for use across social platforms.
  • Produces fun, engaging, and team-centered content (such as athlete Q&As, viral trends, and behind-the-scenes reels) that showcase the energy and spirit of Panda athletics.
  • Works closely with the Athletics Department to stay informed of team schedules, student-athlete achievements, and noteworthy moments.
  • Partners with coaches and students to amplify team stories, highlight accomplishments, and promote sportsmanship across the school community.

Requirements

  •  Strong proficiency in Adobe Creative Cloud (especially Photoshop and InDesign), along with content creation skills for social media reels, graphics, and short-form videos.
  • Be familiar with Google Workspace, Meta Business Suite, and related digital tools, and stay current with social media trends and competitor strategies.
  • An understanding of and respect for the values of a Catholic, all-girls school environment is expected.
  • Bachelor’s degree desirable; experience in marketing, communications, and photography.

Wage Range
The rate of pay offered to the selected candidate is based on internal pay policy and budget. New hires are commonly paid at the minimum of the wage range or within the lower part of the range. We consider a number of factors when making compensation decisions including, but not limited to, skill sets, experience, training and other department needs.
