Description

Key Responsibilities:

1. Social Media Management:

  • Develop, manage, and execute social media strategies on platforms including Facebook, Instagram, Twitter and YouTube.
  • Create engaging posts, graphics, and videos that reflect the church’s values, events and messages and align with the church’s branding and mission.
  • Respond to comments, messages and interactions on social media in a timely and respectful manner.
  • Monitor social media trends, audience engagement and analytics to continuously improve social media efforts.

2. Bulletin & Newsletter:

  • Manage the creation, organization, management, and submission of the print church bulletin every week.
  • Upload the bulletin to the website weekly.
  • Conduct research regarding other parishes and use the information gained to enhance the St. Paul’s bulletin.
  • Redesign the bulletin as needed for different seasons and general updates.
  • Assist with proofing the weekly newsletter and inputting graphics for various events and programs.

3. Parish Website:

  • Design and upload event graphics to the website weekly.
  • Keep website details updated on a weekly basis, including office hours, mass times, copy and programming for various pages, buttons for various pages and groups, etc…
  • Assist overall in coordinating website content.
  • Upload the newsletter to the parish website weekly.
  • Periodically, strategize and upload updated media, including photos and videos.

4. Media:

  • Design promotional materials (digital flyers, event banners, postcards, brochures, rack cards, magnets, etc.).
  • Collaborate with the staff to organize, plan, and creatively design promotional and informational videos.
  • Attend events (as-needed) to capture photos and videos for promotional use.
  • Assist in culling, organizing, and uploading media.

5. Event Promotion and Marketing:

  • Promote events, ensuring that they are shared across social media, the church website and local community boards.
  • Assist with managing digital logistics for various events and programs (i.e. Habitat for Humanity sign-ups, event RSVP’s, etc.)

6. Community Engagement:

  • Engage with local online communities, faith-based groups, and other relevant platforms to spread the word about church activities and foster a sense of community.
  • Encourage church members to share content and invite others to attend events.
  • Engage with existing parishioners to create video content.
  • Work on strategies to reach younger audiences and those who may not currently be attending church.

7. Other Duties:

  • Serve as a resource to staff with new ideas on how to promote the activities of the parish and the overall church mission/values.
  • Assist with special projects or initiatives as needed.
  • Support the wider church communications strategy with administrative tasks as necessary.

Requirements

Qualifications:

  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Excellent technical/computer/mobile devices technical background.
  • Understanding of the coordination needed for messaging between the church’s bulletin, web site, social media, parish app, online forums and other digital forms of communication.
  • Serves as technical liaison between the overall digital communications strategy and the church staff.
  • Takes the initiative creating new video content creation around the church’s liturgical schedule.
  • Familiarity with major social media platforms (e.g. Facebook, Instagram, X, TikTok, YouTube, etc.)
  • Experience with graphic design tools (e.g., Canva, Adobe CreativeSuite) and video editing software (e.g., iMovie, Adobe Premiere, Final Cut Pro).
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team, managing multiple projects and deadlines.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.

Wage Range
The rate of pay offered to the selected candidate is based on internal pay policy and budget. New hires are commonly paid at the minimum of the wage range or within the lower part of the range. We consider a number of factors when making compensation decisions including, but not limited to, skill sets, experience, training and other department needs.
