Description
We are seeking a passionate and dynamic Physical Education (PE) teacher to inspire and guide students in grades Transitional Kindergarten (TK) through 8th grade. The PE teacher will develop and implement an engaging curriculum that promotes physical fitness, teamwork, sportsmanship, and lifelong healthy habits, aligned with age-appropriate standards and school values.
Responsibilities
- Plan and deliver high-quality PE instruction for students in TK through 8th grade.
- Create a safe, inclusive, and supportive environment for all students.
- Teach fundamental motor skills, fitness principles, and sport-specific skills tailored to each age group.
- Maintain and inventory PE equipment and ensure proper usage and care.
- Collaborate with classroom teachers and school leadership to support school-wide events (e.g., field day, Jog-a-Thon, etc.).
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Physical Education, Kinesiology, or related field (Preferred).
- Teaching credential or certification in PE (preferred).
- Previous experience teaching physical education to elementary and/or middle school students.
- Enthusiasm for working with children and fostering their physical and social development.
- Ability to adapt lessons for students of varying skill levels and needs.
- Familiarity with faith-based or Catholic school environments.
- Experience organizing school-wide physical activity events or extracurricular programs.
Wage Range
The rate of pay offered to the selected candidate is based on internal pay policy and budget. New hires are commonly paid at the minimum of the wage range or within the lower part of the range. We consider a number of factors when making compensation decisions including, but not limited to, skill sets, experience, training and other department needs.
