Position Overview:
The Spanish Teacher will create a positive and engaging classroom environment that introduces and builds Spanish language proficiency, cultural appreciation, and global awareness. The teacher will collaborate with classroom teachers and administration to ensure a developmentally appropriate, standards-aligned curriculum that supports students’ academic and spiritual growth in line with our Catholic values.
Responsibilities:
- Teach Spanish language classes to TK–8 students, adapting instruction to various age and ability levels.
- Develop and implement engaging lesson plans that incorporate speaking, listening, reading, and writing skills.
- Foster an appreciation for Hispanic/Latino cultures and traditions.
- Collaborate with faculty and administration to support the school’s mission and student learning goals.
- Maintain regular communication with parents and guardians regarding student progress.
- Participate in relevant school events, meetings, and professional development.
Requirements
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree required; degree in Spanish, Education, or a related field preferred.
- Prior teaching experience with elementary and/or middle school students strongly preferred.
- Ability to create a joyful and respectful classroom rooted in Catholic values.
- Strong classroom management and organizational skills.
- Practicing Catholic preferred but not required.
Wage Range
The rate of pay offered to the selected candidate is based on internal pay policy and budget. New hires are commonly paid at the minimum of the wage range or within the lower part of the range. We consider a number of factors when making compensation decisions including, but not limited to, skill sets, experience, training and other department needs.
