Description
Our Lady of Guadalupe School located in East Los Angeles, is seeking a dynamic, faith-filled, and passionate Middle School English Language Arts, ELA, teacher to join our dedicated faculty for the 2025–2026 school year. This full-time position includes serving as the 5th/6th grade multiage homeroom teacher and teaching ELA to students in grades 5–8. The ideal candidate must have a desire to work in an inclusive environment while remaining flexible and reliable with a caring disposition demonstrating a commitment to academic excellence, student-centered learning, and the mission of Catholic education.
Requirements
- BA or BS with preference in an English related degree
- CA Credential or currently enrolled in a CA teaching credential program
- Virtus Trained
- Practicing Catholic (preferred)
- Experience teaching ELA at the Middle School Level (preferred)
- Skilled in classroom management
- Align instruction with the school’s Catholic mission and curriculum
- Plan and implement ELA lessons based on California Common Core Standards
- Differentiate instruction to meet the needs of diverse learners
- Create a student-centered, faith-filled learning environment
- Use varied teaching strategies and assessments to support growth
- Integrate technology and innovative practices effectively
- Collaborate with faculty, staff, and parents to support student success
- Maintain clear communication and accurate student records
- Commit to ongoing professional and spiritual development
- Uphold high academic and moral expectations rooted in Gospel values
Wage Range
The rate of pay offered to the selected candidate is based on internal pay policy and budget. New hires are commonly paid at the minimum of the wage range or within the lower part of the range. We consider a number of factors when making compensation decisions including, but not limited to, skill sets, experience, training and other department needs.
