Description
St. Ignatius of Loyola School is seeking a dedicated and dynamic Middle School Teacher to join our committed faculty team. The ideal candidate is a faith-filled, collaborative educator who is passionate about guiding students both academically and spiritually.
Responsibilities:
- Teach all core subject areas (Religion, Language Arts, Math, Science, and Social Studies) to middle school students, with a focus on differentiated instruction to meet diverse learning needs.
- Collaborate actively with grade-level and subject-area colleagues during Professional Learning Community (PLC) time to plan curriculum, analyze data, and share best practices.
- Serve as a homeroom teacher, responsible for fostering a positive classroom environment rooted in Catholic values.
- Plan and lead a spiritual retreat for the homeroom class, nurturing students’ faith development.
- Coordinate and plan an assigned weekly school Mass in collaboration with other faculty and the parish liturgy team.
- Establish strong communication and a collaborative partnership with parents to support student learning, behavior, and personal growth.
- Use a variety of assessment tools to evaluate student progress and inform instruction.
- Maintain accurate records, meet deadlines for grades/report cards, and adhere to school policies and procedures.
- Actively participate in school-wide events, staff meetings, and professional development opportunities.
- Model Gospel values and support the school’s Catholic mission in word and action.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Education or related field (Master’s degree preferred).
- Current teaching credential or working toward certification.
- Previous middle school teaching experience strongly preferred.
- Practicing Catholic with a strong understanding of Catholic teachings and traditions (preferred).
Wage Range
The rate of pay offered to the selected candidate is based on internal pay policy and budget. New hires are commonly paid at the minimum of the wage range or within the lower part of the range. We consider a number of factors when making compensation decisions including, but not limited to, skill sets, experience, training and other department needs.
