Description
Saint Genevieve Elementary school is looking for a dynamic, creative, hard-working educator to plan, organize and implement an appropriate instructional program in a learning environment based on Gospel values that guides and encourages students to develop and fulfill their academic potential. We are looking for a dedicated individual that is flexible and energetic to work with our Elementary school band program. All students in grades K-2 take music appreciation, grade 3 uses the recorder and all students in grades 4-8 are in a leveled band program that meets regularly.
Teacher also gets to be apart of a larger Visual and Performing Arts Department that includes both elementary and high school teachers.
KEY Responsibilities:
- Teaching · Assume personal responsibility for the academic progress of all students· Implement a coherent, research-based curriculum· Document all syllabi, lesson plans, assignments, rubrics, and other instructional materials and methods · Use consistent school-wide practices and individualized methods to engage students in the classroom
- Classroom Management · Create, monitor, and sustain a disciplined school culture of high academic and behavioral standards · Provide structure in the classroom by developing and reinforcing school-wide rules and expectations · Ensure smooth operation of all classroom instructional functions without excuses or exceptions
- Data Analysis · Develop and use a variety of assessment data to refine curricula and instructional practice · Evaluate academic achievement through data analysis of student performance
- Student Support & School Culture · Communicate effectively and maintain strong relationships with students, families, and colleagues· Develop and maintain positive, strong classroom culture
Requirements
- Flexible, and able to motivate students to practice and apply themselves to their instruments!
- Bachelor’s degree in teaching field desired

Wage Range
The rate of pay offered to the selected candidate is based on internal pay policy and budget. New hires are commonly paid at the minimum of the wage range or within the lower part of the range. We consider a number of factors when making compensation decisions including, but not limited to, skill sets, experience, training and other department needs.
