POSITION SUMMARY:

The Development Coordinator is responsible for the creation and implementation of a comprehensive stewardship and development program to secure financial resources to help support, sustain and enhance the ministries and programs of St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church. The Development Coordinator provides leadership and guidance to the Development Committee, collaborates with both the Finance Committee and Parish Council, serves as a member of the Parish Administration Team, and collaborates with staff and parish volunteers to advance the mission of the church.
This position reports directly to the Pastor with assistance of the Business Manager. Staff and secretarial assistance available

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Promote a culture of stewardship by engaging parishioners through activities focused on sharing their time, talents, and treasures. Execute annual stewardship program.
  • Coordinate and execute development strategies to meet parish annual operating needs & ensure long-term sustainability includes grants, annual giving, major giving, capital campaigns and planned giving.
  • Acknowledge donor gifts in a timely fashion.
  • Track & report fundraising progress.
  • Analyze data for projecting revenue and future giving.
  • Oversee the marketing & communications plan for all stewardship & development initiatives.
  • Steward existing donors and grow the pipeline for new donors.
  • Plan, organize and execute fundraising special events.
  • Other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • At least 3-5 years of experience in fundraising, development planning and cultivating donors.
  • An undergraduate degree required in Marketing/Communications, Public Relations, Nonprofit Management, or extensive relevant work experience.
  • Strong organizational skills and a proven ability to complete projects and reach goals.
  • Experience using data to inform decision-making.
  • Experience overseeing staff and recruiting and managing volunteers.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.

Wage Range
The rate of pay offered to the selected candidate is based on internal pay policy and budget. New hires are commonly paid at the minimum of the wage range or within the lower part of the range. We consider a number of factors when making compensation decisions including, but not limited to, skill sets, experience, training and other department needs.
