Reports to: Principal / Vice Principal
Start Date: 2026–2027 School Year
Salary Range: $48,000 – $65,000 (depending on experience and education)

Position Summary
The Dean of Student Life provides leadership for the spiritual, co-curricular and community life of the school in support of the mission of Catholic education. In collaboration with the administration, faculty, and staff, the Dean of Student Life oversees student leadership programs, student organizations, and major student activities that foster Faith formation, service, leadership development, school spirit, and a strong sense of community.
The Dean of Student Life serves as a visible and engaged presence on campus, modeling responsible leadership and active participation in school life. This role ensures that the student life program reflects the mission and values of St. Paul High School and contributes to a vibrant, faith-centered school culture.
Essential Responsibilities
Oversight of Student Leadership and Organizations
- Student clubs and organizations, including ASB
- Approving new clubs in collaboration with school administration
- Ensuring that each club has a faculty moderator
- Supporting faculty moderators in the effective operation of clubs
- The school chapter of the National Honor Society, including coordination of its activities, meetings, and service initiatives.
- The School Ambassadors program, preparing students to represent the school at admissions and community events.
Student Activities and School Events
- Plan and coordinate major student activities and traditions, including but not limited to:
- Homecoming events
- Pep rallies and spirit activities
- School dances (Homecoming, Winter Formal, Prom)
- Spirit Week and other community-building events
- Coordinate event logistics including scheduling, facilities, supervision, and safety procedures.
- Maintain the master calendar for student activities and ensure appropriate communication with students, faculty, and families.
Collaboration with Campus Ministry
- Work closely with the Campus Minister to support the vitality of the school’s liturgical, retreat, and Christian service programs.
- Collaborate in fostering opportunities for student leadership within liturgies, retreats, and service initiatives.
- Support programs that integrate faith, service, and community engagement into student life.
School Culture and Community Life
- Promote a positive and inclusive campus culture that reflects the mission and values of St. Paul High School.
- Encourage student participation in extracurricular activities and community life.
- Serve as a visible and supportive presence at student activities and school events.
- Assist in strengthening school traditions that foster unity, school spirit, and pride.
Administrative Responsibilities
- Maintain the annual calendar of student life activities.
- Oversee the student activities budget and related financial processes.
- Communicate regularly with faculty moderators and school leadership regarding student programs.
- Ensure that all student activities are conducted in accordance with school policies and Archdiocesan guidelines.

As a member of the St. Paul High School community, the Dean of Student Life is expected to actively support and promote the mission of Catholic education. The Dean of Student Life will witness to the centrality of faith at the heart of the life of the school and contribute to the spiritual formation of students through example, leadership, and collaboration with Campus Ministry.
The Dean of Student Life supports the Catholic identity of the school by encouraging student participation in liturgy, retreats, and Christian service, and by helping cultivate a school culture rooted in Gospel values, respect, service, and community.
Requirements
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree required; Master’s degree in Education, Educational Leadership, or a related field preferred.
- Experience working with high school students in leadership development, extracurricular programming, or student activities.
- Strong organizational, communication, and event planning skills.
- Demonstrated ability to mentor and inspire student leaders.
- Commitment to the mission and values of Catholic education.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in Catholic secondary education.
- Experience collaborating with Campus Ministry programs.
- Familiarity with student retreats, service-learning programs, and faith-based leadership formation.
Working Conditions
- Full-time position during the academic year.
- Requires regular attendance at evening and weekend events including dances, rallies, and major school activities.
- Active supervision and engagement with students during school events and programs.

Wage Range
The rate of pay offered to the selected candidate is based on internal pay policy and budget. New hires are commonly paid at the minimum of the wage range or within the lower part of the range. We consider a number of factors when making compensation decisions including, but not limited to, skill sets, experience, training and other department needs.
