Description

Duties shared with the Principal are:

  1. Consult with the principal on the vision and direction of the school and on all matters of policies and procedures.
  2. Assist the Principal in coordinating school functions.
  3. Assist the Principal in interviewing prospective teachers, if needed.
  4. Supervise faculty in the following areas:
    a. Demonstration of professionalism
    b.Teacher performance in curricular and extra curricular areas
    c. Evaluative classroom visits
  5. Serve as a member of the Administration Team, and Leadership Team Specific duties:
    1. Assist Vice Principal with administrative duties in the absence of the Principal.
    2. Work witht VP to edit, update and publish the Faculty Handbook, Student/Parent Handbook, Substitute Handbook.
    3. Schedule, implement and monitor staff on campus supervision of students, as well as assisting with on-campus supervision.
    4. Work with VP on campus security procedures and drills.
    5. Assist the Principal with the direction and supervision of classified staff and tech support
    6. Assist the Dean of Student Learning with planning of new teacher orientation
    7. Assist the Principal with meetings, development efforts and public relations events
    8. Develop and enforce a systematic discipline code that stresses consequences for unacceptable behavior.
    9. Supervise teachers and classes for the purpose of evaluating classroom discipline standards.
    10. Supervise group discipline at all assemblies, rallies and student gatherings, in cooperation with function moderators and instructors.
    11. Maintain and keep on file a dated record of all disciplinary cases.
    12. Keep the faculty and students informed of all disciplinary regulations.
    13. Keep informed of the general discipline of the school with regard to hallways, lockers, games, dances and rallies, etc.
    14. Consult with the Principal in serious cases of classroom misconduct or insubordination.
    15. Interview problem students for the purpose of corrective counseling and make necessary referrals.
    16. Recommend to the Principal those students who should be placed on probation and communicate probation stipulations with parents.
    17. Obtain the assistance of the faculty in supervising students in non-classroom situations. 18. Convene the Discipline Board as necessary.
    19. Supervise procedures, policies and systems for student discipline and attendance records.
    20. Serve as school Attendance Officer and develop, coordinate and evaluate policies and procedures relating to faculty and student attendance.
    21. Direct and coordinate disaster preparedness.
    22.Assist ASB Director and Leadership Academy Director in leadership development.
    23.Work with the Theology chair to submit the annual ADLA Safeguarding the Children report
    24. Support Athletics and problem solve discrepancies.
    25. Assume responsibilities the Principal appoints.

Requirements

Prior experience with this position as well as knowledge or experience in working in Catholic Education. BA/BS, MA/MS.

Wage Range
The rate of pay offered to the selected candidate is based on internal pay policy and budget. New hires are commonly paid at the minimum of the wage range or within the lower part of the range. We consider a number of factors when making compensation decisions including, but not limited to, skill sets, experience, training and other department needs.
