Description

Bishop Mora Salesian High School, a Catholic, all-boys, college preparatory high school in Boyle Heights, is seeking an Athletic Trainer and classroom science teacher for the 2025–26 school year. The athletic trainer is a stipend position with the opportunity for a full-time teaching role in the Math and Science Department, depending on qualifications. The salary can range from $55,000 to $75,000 depending on experience. Athletic Trainer Position Key Responsibilities

  • Provide athletic training services for all home athletic events and all away varsity football games.
  • Act as a liaison between physicians/specialists, school administration, student-athletes, and their families.
  • Maintain accurate records of injuries and treatments; assist in completing insurance claim forms for physician-treated injuries.
  • Develop and manage the athletic training program budget.
  • Coordinate and attend pre-participation sports physicals.
  • Provide coaches and the athletic director with a list of medically eligible athletes.
  • Operate therapeutic modalities such as a STEM machine.
  • Assist the athletic director with other duties as assigned.

Teaching Position (Full-Time)
The candidate may be offered a full-time teaching position in the Math/Science Department, with potential courses including biology, chemistry, anatomy, kinesiology, sports medicine and/or other related subjects based on need and qualifications

Requirements

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Athletic Training, Health Science, or a related field (Master’s preferred)
  • ATC Certification required
  • Previous experience working with high school students (experience in an all-boys school is a plus)
  • Current AED, CPR, and First Aid certifications, as well as a valid Live Scan and Virtus Certificate (Protecting God’s Children), must be completed before working with students.

Wage Range
The rate of pay offered to the selected candidate is based on internal pay policy and budget. New hires are commonly paid at the minimum of the wage range or within the lower part of the range. We consider a number of factors when making compensation decisions including, but not limited to, skill sets, experience, training and other department needs.
