Position Overview:
Holy Spirit STEM Academy is seeking a dedicated and collaborative Full-Time Associate Teacher to support the Science curriculum for grades 5 through 8 during the 2025–2026 school year. This position is ideal for someone passionate about science education who thrives in a team-teaching environment and is interested in taking on the Homeroom Teacher responsibilities in the near future. The Associate Teacher will work closely with the 8th Grade Lead Teacher to assist in planning, delivering, and facilitating science instruction.
Although not a homeroom teacher, the Associate Teacher plays an integral role in student learning—providing support in the classroom, guiding small group instruction, helping manage lab activities, and ensuring all students are engaged and progressing.
Requirements
Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with the 8th Grade Lead Teacher to deliver science lessons aligned with the school’s STEM-based curriculum
- Assist with classroom instruction, labs, assessments, and student projects in grades 5–8
- Support differentiated instruction to meet diverse learning needs
- Supervise students during instructional and non-instructional times as needed
- Assist with classroom organization, preparation of materials, and student feedback
- Participate in school events, meetings, and professional development
- Contribute to a positive, respectful, and faith-filled classroom culture
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Education, Science, or a related field (Preferred)
- Prior experience working in a classroom setting, preferably upper elementary or middle school
- Strong interest in science and STEM education
- Effective communication, organization, and teamwork skills
- A commitment to Catholic education and the mission of Holy Spirit STEM Academy
- A Flexibility, enthusiasm, and collaborative spirit
Wage Range
The rate of pay offered to the selected candidate is based on internal pay policy and budget. New hires are commonly paid at the minimum of the wage range or within the lower part of the range. We consider a number of factors when making compensation decisions including, but not limited to, skill sets, experience, training and other department needs.
