Description

The Assistant Principal of Student Life serves as an administrative leader in organizing student body activities, student community service, and extra-curricular events and activities throughout the school year. The Assistant Principal serves as a liaison with parents, faculty, and the local community to facilitate and organize School-sponsored events both on and off campus.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
Student Leadership & Activities

  • Approves and coordinates all ASB, class, and club activities and leadership by students and moderators
  • Facilitates weekly ASB Meetings and coordinates ASB/Admin Meetings
  • Develops and promotes student leadership in the school
  • Oversees class moderators and provides support for their respective class meetings and events
  • Coordinates and conducts whole school daily morning announcements
  • Ensures recognition is given to students for extracurricular achievement and participation
  • Works with class historians to document student activities for archival and celebratory purposes

Student Life Programs & Events

  • Coordinates and facilitates student assemblies and student activities
  • Coordinates all dances: Louisville Homecoming (Fall Ball), Parent/Student, Winter Formal, MORP, Prom
  • Oversees facilities preparation, logistics (including audio-visual needs), and volunteers for the Baccalaureate Mass, Baccalaureate Reception, and Graduation Ceremony
  • Oversees the preparation of St. Louis Hall for non-athletic events
  • Coordinates student transportation for school-sponsored Christian Service, field trips, and large school events
  • Organizes traffic control and off-site parking/shuttle service for major events (e.g., Fall Boutique, Graduation)
  • Serves as a liaison for Crespi-related student events (e.g., Frosh/Box Social, Exchange Day)

Faith, Service, & Campus Culture

  • Coordinates the Christian Service Program and tracks student participation and requirements
  • Promotes a spirit-filled campus environment

Parent & Community Engagement

  • Acts as liaison with the Parents Guild and Dads Club regarding events
  • Works with the Admissions Director to support Eighth Grade Visit Day, Open House, and the Royal Kick-Off
  • Represents Louisville High School at major co-curricular events

Operational Oversight & Administration

  • Maintains student activities accounts, including deposits, check requests, and cash boxes
  • Creates the school calendar in collaboration with the Administrative Team and key departments; updates and maintains it throughout the year
  • Coordinates, updates, and maintains the St. Louis Hall calendar
  • Develops, updates, and implements the School’s Emergency Plan
  • Serves as a member of the Administrative Council
  • Serves as a member of the Workplace Violence Prevention Committee
  • Conducts regular evaluations of the Student Activity Program and recommends improvements

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree required; Master’s Degree in Education, Educational Leadership, or a related discipline preferred
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in student life, campus ministry, or a related leadership role, preferably in an independent or faith-based school setting
  • Demonstrated leadership and supervisory experience, particularly in managing student programs, events, and faculty/staff collaboration
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills, including public speaking and parent/community engagement
  • Proven ability to foster student leadership and support student development in alignment with the school’s mission
  • Demonstrated professionalism, discretion, and diplomacy in working with students, parents, faculty, and external partners
  • Strong organizational and project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively as part of an administrative team
  • Familiarity with school safety protocols and emergency planning preferred
  • Willingness and availability to work a flexible schedule, including evenings and weekends, to support school events and activities
  • Commitment to fostering a faith-based, inclusive, and spirit-filled school culture

The anticipated annual salary range that the school reasonably expects to pay for this position is between $80,000 and $105,000, depending on qualifications such as experience or education.

Wage Range
The rate of pay offered to the selected candidate is based on internal pay policy and budget. New hires are commonly paid at the minimum of the wage range or within the lower part of the range. We consider a number of factors when making compensation decisions including, but not limited to, skill sets, experience, training and other department needs.
