Description
This position teaches both math and science to 7th graders and 8th graders. The small class size enables teachers to work closely with parents and students. Our goal is have OLP students ready enough to be accepted to any high school of their choice; fluent in reading, writing, mathematics and science. Religion is taught by a wonderful volunteer nun. This teacher is responsible for planning and coordinating all end of year activities for 8th graders, including graduation. As well, this person heads up the science fair for grades 5 – 8.
Requirements
- BA or BS degree
- Teaching Credential or in process of getting one (preferred)
- Catholic is preferred but not required
- M.Ed is a bonus!
- STEM background is a bonus
- At least 2 or 3 years of experience teaching full time.
Wage Range
The rate of pay offered to the selected candidate is based on internal pay policy and budget. New hires are commonly paid at the minimum of the wage range or within the lower part of the range. We consider a number of factors when making compensation decisions including, but not limited to, skill sets, experience, training and other department needs.
