We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic full-time Science Teacher for grades 5 through 8. The ideal candidate will inspire a love of science, foster critical thinking, and create a supportive, faith-filled classroom environment. The teacher will plan and implement engaging lessons aligned with NGSS standards and Catholic values, assess student progress, and collaborate with colleagues and parents to support student growth.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and deliver rigorous science lessons for students in grades 5–8.
- Incorporate hands-on experiments, technology, and inquiry-based learning.
- Integrate Catholic values and teachings into classroom activities and discussions.
- Assess and monitor student progress, providing timely feedback and support.
- Differentiate instruction to meet the diverse learning needs of students.
- Maintain a positive, safe, and respectful classroom environment.
- Communicate effectively with students, parents, and staff.
- Collaborate with colleagues on school-wide initiatives.
- Uphold the mission and values of Visitation Catholic School.
- Participate in school events, faculty meetings, and professional development opportunities.
Requirements
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Science, Education, or a related field. MA preferred.
- Valid teaching certification/license for middle school science preferred.
- Previous teaching experience with middle school students.
- Willingness to support the Catholic mission of the school.
- Strong classroom management and organizational skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
- Commitment to continuous professional growth.

Wage Range
The rate of pay offered to the selected candidate is based on internal pay policy and budget. New hires are commonly paid at the minimum of the wage range or within the lower part of the range. We consider a number of factors when making compensation decisions including, but not limited to, skill sets, experience, training and other department needs.
