Position Overview
The 1st Grade Teacher is responsible for providing an engaging, faith-based learning environment that supports the spiritual and academic development of each student. The teacher will plan and implement instruction aligned with diocesan and state standards, integrate Catholic values throughout the curriculum, and collaborate with colleagues, parents, and administration to ensure the success of all students.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and implement lesson plans that align with Archdiocesan and school standards.
- Foster a positive, faith-centered classroom environment that supports social, emotional, and academic growth.
- Incorporate Catholic teachings and Gospel values into daily instruction and classroom culture.
- Differentiate instruction to meet the diverse needs of learners.
- Use formative and summative assessments to guide instruction and communicate progress effectively.
- Maintain accurate records of student performance and attendance.
- Communicate regularly and professionally with parents and guardians.
- Collaborate with faculty and administration in schoolwide programs, events, and professional learning communities.
- Supervise students during recess, lunch, and other assigned duties.
- Participate in faculty meetings, professional development, and school liturgies.
Requirements
Qualifications & Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Education or related field (Master’s preferred).
- Valid California Multiple Subject Teaching Credential (or in progress).
- Prior experience teaching in an elementary classroom, preferably in a Catholic school setting.
- Strong classroom management and communication skills.
- Commitment to the mission and philosophy of Catholic education.
- Practicing Catholic preferred.
- Proficient in integrating technology into instruction and classroom management systems.

Wage Range
The rate of pay offered to the selected candidate is based on internal pay policy and budget. New hires are commonly paid at the minimum of the wage range or within the lower part of the range. We consider a number of factors when making compensation decisions including, but not limited to, skill sets, experience, training and other department needs.
