Ecumenical & Interreligious Events

Many educational and inspiring ecumenical and interreligious events happen regularly throughout our Archdiocese, most of which are open to the public. Due to the Pandemic, all gatherings, lectures, prayer services, retreats and even “marches” are currently held online. This shift, however, has also presented us with the opportunity to attend events all over the world, from Jerusalem to Rome to New York to Los Angeles and everywhere in between.

A list of upcoming events is compiled by the Archdiocesan Ecumenical & Interreligious Officer weekly and is then distributed via email by the Ecumenical & Interreligious Ministry at the Church of the Good Shepherd in Beverly Hills.

LMU Interfaith Forum with Rabbi Rosen

Annual Interfaith Forum: “From Part of the Problem to Part of the Solution: Antisemitism and the Church”

On February 25, 2020 many gathered to hear the keynote lecture by Rabbi David Rosen, KSG, CBE, Director of the American Jewish Committee’s Jerusalem-based Department of International Interreligious Affairs.

The Pope’s Rabbi

On Tuesday, February 4, 2020 many joined Rabbi Abraham Skorka for a special program and dinner. Rabbi Skorka is an Argentine biophysicist, rabbi and author. He has become one of the Pope’s most trusted spiritual confidantes.

Huffington Lecture with Dr. Olav Fykse Tveit

“Christ’s Love Moves the World to Reconciliation and Unity”

On Tuesday, April 2, 2019, Rev. Dr. Tveit spoke about the theme “Christ’s Love Moves the World to Reconciliation and Unity”. This topic explored the ecumenical movement as one of love, expressed in the search for justice, peace and unity.
