Prayer for Fathers

God our Father, bless our fathers and grandfathers. Fill their hearts and homes with love, keep them close to their children, as Saint Joseph stayed close to the Child Jesus. Help them grow deeper in love with their wives, as Saint Joseph and the Blessed Virgin Mary were deeply in love. Make their families holy like the Holy Family of Nazareth.

God of mercy, Your love is stronger than death and we know that a father’s love is never ending. Grant our fathers peace at their hour of death and welcome them into Your everlasting light. Let your face shine upon them until we meet again in the joy of Your Kingdom.

We ask all this Your sons and daughters, in the name of Jesus Christ, Your only Son, and through the intercession of our Blessed Mother Mary. Amen

Dios, Padre nuestro, bendice a nuestros padres y abuelos. Te pedimos que llenes sus corazones y sus hogares de amor, y que los ayudes a estar siempre cerca de sus hijos, como San José estuvo cerca del Niño Jesús. Que puedan amar a sus esposas cada vez más, con un amor como el de San José por la Virgen María. Que nuestras familias sean santas como la Sagrada Familia de Nazaret.

Dios de misericordia, sabemos que tu amor es más fuerte que la muerte, y que el amor de un padre es infinito. Te pedimos que concedes paz a nuestros padres en la hora de su muerte y que los acojas en tu luz infinita. Que tu rostro brille sobre ellos, hasta que nos volvamos a encontrar en tu Reino.

Todo esto te lo pedimos tus hijos e hijas, en nombre de tu Hijo Jesucristo, por intercesión de Santa María nuestra Madre. Amén
