Under the spiritual leadership of Archbishop José H. Gomez, the Archdiocese of Los Angeles is the nation’s largest and most culturally and socially diverse Catholic community, covering nearly 9,000 square miles in Los Angeles, Ventura and Santa Barbara counties. The nearly 5 million Catholics in Los Angeles come from some 70 countries and every continent. Archbishop Gomez is assisted in his pastoral duties by the regional bishops and episcopal vicars serving the five pastoral regions of the Archdiocese and our diverse ethnic communities:
Auxiliary Bishops
Retired Bishops
Catholic life in the Archdiocese is centered in the 287 parishes in the Archdiocese. Most parishes are headed by a Priest Pastor although some are headed by Parish Administrator or a Parish Life Director.
The Archdiocese Catholic Center, located at 4311 Wilshire Boulevard, Los Angeles, CA. 90010, has many offices and departments that serve various aspects of Catholic life.
