The annual Missionary Childhood Association (MCA) Mass will take place at the Cathedral of Our Lady of the Angels on Wednesday, October 15, 2025 from 10 a.m. to 1p.m.
The Archdiocese of Los Angeles’ Mission Office hosts the annual liturgy to celebrate the contributions by local youth to help underserved children of the world. The principal celebrant is Archbishop Jose Gomez and concelebrating will be Rev. Rudy Valenzuela.

Priest from Uganda thanks LA students at MCA Youth Mass
Father Frederick Byaruhanga stood in front of a full audience at the Cathedral of Our Lady of the Angels during his homily and thanked local students, teachers, parents, and more for “planting the seeds of faith” in their efforts to help disadvantaged youth all over the world.

The 2023-2024 MCA fundraising efforts, which involved Catholic schools and religious education students across the tri-county Archdiocese, raised $85,855.19. One of the projects funded by MCA collections is the Diocesan Center for Children Development (CCD) and the Next Generation Home in Ghana, where hundreds of children living in the streets are provided meals and education, and whenever possible, reintegration with their families.

Founded in 1843, the Missionary Childhood Association (formerly Holy Childhood Association) is an international organization whose membership is made up of students in Catholic elementary schools and religious education programs.
