Living the Mission and Vision

A Four-part Series for the Employees of the Archdiocese of Los Angeles

The objective of this four-part series is to imbue the culture of the Archdiocese of Los Angeles with a clear sense of the mission of evangelization, the vision of Archbishop Gomez and his five Pastoral Priorities, and the four ACC Pastoral Values.

Drawing from the Pastoral Letters of Archbishop Gomez, each session in this four-part virtual series includes elements of teaching, small-group conversation, prayer and spiritual practice, testimony or activity.  Each session aims to assist a participants in growing as a disciple of Jesus and connecting their life and work to his mission.  This four-part series will be offered over four months via Zoom; each session will be offered twice per month.

Evangelization and Missionary Discipleship

Session 1 is a 2-hour virtual retreat that explores the mission of Jesus and the Church and introduces missionary discipleship of Jesus as the goal of life and the context of our work.

Five Priorities for the Family of God in Los Angeles

Session 2 is a 1 hour and 20-minute virtual experience that presents the five Pastoral Priorities of Archbishop Gomez.  This session helps individuals see how to live their baptismal commitment by living these priorities.

We Must Live in Imitation of Christ
Four Pastoral Values of the Archdiocese of Los Angeles

Session 3 is a 1 hour and 20-minute virtual experience that will present the four ACC Pastoral Values.  This session helps individuals see how to imitate Jesus by living these Gospel values at the ACC.

Living and Working with Intentionality
My Role in the Mission

Session 4 is a 1 hour and 20-minute virtual experience to help individuals discover how the mission of the Church, the five Pastoral Priorities of Archbishop Gomez, and the four ACC Pastoral Values shape their specific role.

This experience is hosted through a collaborative effort of several ACC Departments.
