Lent: Day 11
Remember your first encounter with Jesus. // Recuerde su primer encuentro con el Señor Jesús.
Over the course of the seven years of his papacy, Pope Francis has encouraged Catholics to remember their first encounter with the Lord Jesus – that pivotal moment when we came to know Jesus for the first time.
Why is this important? Pope Francis has said that memory and hope go hand in hand. Jesus always journeys with us and invites us to see how He is present in every moment of our lives. And beyond our first encounter, it’s important consider other moments in your relationship with the Lord. According to Pope Francis,
“Each of us has moments such as these: when I got to know Jesus, when He changed my life, when the Lord showed me my vocation, when the Lord visited me at a difficult time… We all have these moments in our hearts.”
Spend some time this Lent “traveling down memory lane” as a way of drawing closer to the Lord who is accompanying you on your journey.

En el curso de los siete años de este papado, el Papa Francisco ha animado a los católicos a recordar su primer encuentro con el Señor Jesús, ese momento crucial en que conocimos a Jesús por primera vez.
¿Por qué es esto importante? El Papa Francisco ha dicho que la memoria y la esperanza van de la mano. Jesús siempre camina con nosotros y nos invita a ver cómo Él está presente en cada momento de nuestra vida. Y más allá de nuestro primer encuentro, es importante considerar otros momentos en su relación con el Señor. Según el Papa Francisco,
“Cada uno de nosotros tiene momentos como éstos: cuando conocí a Jesús, cuando Él cambió mi vida, cuando el Señor me mostró mi vocación, cuando el Señor me visitó en un tiempo difícil… Todos tenemos estos momentos guardados en nuestros corazones”.
Dedique un tiempo durante esta Cuaresma a “viajar por el camino de la memoria”, como una forma de acercarse al Señor, que le acompaña en su jornada.
