Position Summary:

The Vice President of the Corporate Work Study Program is an energetic and visionary executive who leads the strategy, operations, and business development necessary to engage corporate job partners for Cristo Rey Orange County students. Responsible for sales, partner stewardship, and program oversight, this leader ensures that all students are placed in meaningful work settings and that partners receive exceptional service. The role balances daily operational execution with long -term vision, driving continuous improvement to meet evolving business needs and strengthen partner relationships.

  • Drive Impact & Growth: Lead the Corporate Work Study Program (CWS) in achieving annual employment benchmarks and revenue goals, while ensuring fiscal responsibility and maintaining the program budget.
  • Partner Engagement: Build, retain, and expand strong corporate partnerships through a consultative sales and service approach that exceeds performance metrics and strengthens long-term client relationships.
  • Board & Leadership Collaboration: Serve as the primary liaison on to the Board ofDirectors for the CWS program and, in partnership with the President and Committee Chair, guide the Jobs Committee in advancing strategic initiatives.
  • Sales Leadership: Manage a sophisticated sales cycle to attract new employers, grow existing partnerships, and position the program as a premier talent solution for businesses.
  • Operational Excellence: Ensure the CWS operations team delivers best practices in partner management, student support, and professional development, while overseeing transportation operations that prioritize safety and efficiency.
  • Student Success & Employability: Design and sustain a professional development framework that equips students with technical, workplace, and career -readiness skills for long-term success.
  • Marketing & Communications: Collaborate with Communications to create and execute a communications strategy that elevates brand awareness and highlights the unique value of the CWS program.
  • Recruitment & Admissions Collaboration: Partner with Admissions to share the CWS value proposition with prospective families and conduct employability assessments to ensure student readiness.
  • Academic Integration: Work closely with the principal, faculty, and academic leadership to strengthen the connection between classroom learning and workplace experience.
  • Student Preparation: Lead the design and delivery of the Summer Success Institute that prepares incoming students for professional success in corporate placements.
  • Compliance & Risk Management: Ensure full compliance with all legal, safety, and employment regulations, including Department of Labor and employment agreements.
  • Team Leadership: Inspire, coach, and manage the CWS staff to achieve excellence, collaboration, and mission-driven results.
  • Network Engagement: Actively participate in Cristo Rey Network initiatives, including trainings, annual meetings, and data sharing, to maintain alignment with national standards and best practices.

Requirements

Candidate Profile:

  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills including proven ability to engage and inspire a wide range of partners, build creative and mutually beneficial relationships within the corporate and nonprofit sectors.
  • The executive presence to inspire organizational and professional confidence, passion and persistence in an ambitious, fast-paced, and results-oriented team, all while maintaining a positive work environment.
  • Unquestionable integrity and ethical behavior that creates trust among stakeholders.
  • A foundational commitment to the mission of Cristo Rey and Catholic values.
  • Results driven approach and strong problem solver with a demonstrable history of successful innovative solutions.
  • 5 + years of proven success with lead generation and securing corporate sales, fundraising or sponsorship.
  • The maturity and skill required to optimize volunteer leadership engagement in achieving sales goals.
  • Critical thinking and problem-solving skills, including evidence of enhancing program growth and innovation.
  • Evidence of operational processes experience and 3 or more years leading teams with full or partial operational functions.
  • Ability to develop and coach a high performance CWSP team and be able to work with other departments within the diverse culture of a Cristo Rey academic institution.
  • Oversee the transportation department, ensuring safe and effective operations for both school and work study transportation.
  • A Bachelor’s degree is required.

Wage Range
The rate of pay offered to the selected candidate is based on internal pay policy and budget. New hires are commonly paid at the minimum of the wage range or within the lower part of the range. We consider a number of factors when making compensation decisions including, but not limited to, skill sets, experience, training and other department needs.
