Description
Our Lady of Refuge Catholic School is seeking a dedicated, nurturing, and faith-filled Transitional Kindergarten (TK) Teacher to join our vibrant school community. Rooted in the mission of Catholic education, the TK teacher plays an essential role in forming young learners academically, socially, emotionally, and spiritually as they begin their educational journey.
The Transitional Kindergarten Teacher is responsible for creating and implementing a developmentally appropriate program for four-year-old learners aligned with the TK standards and philosophy of Catholic education in the Archdiocese of Los Angeles. The teacher supports early literacy, numeracy, social-emotional growth, and faith formation in a structured and engaging environment.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood education, Child Development, or related field (required)
- Valid California Multiple Subject Credential or Child Development Permit appropriate for Transitional Kindergarten (preferred)
- Commitment to supporting the mission of Catholic education
- Practicing Catholic preferred
- Strong understanding of early childhood development and instructional best practices
- Effective classroom management and communication skills
- Lesson plan and deliver developmentally appropriate TK instruction aligned with
- Support students’ social-emotional development through positive guidance and routines
- Monitor student progress and communicate regularly with parents
Wage Range
The rate of pay offered to the selected candidate is based on internal pay policy and budget. New hires are commonly paid at the minimum of the wage range or within the lower part of the range. We consider a number of factors when making compensation decisions including, but not limited to, skill sets, experience, training and other department needs.
