Description

The Principal serves as the spiritual, academic, and administrative leader of the Catholic school community. Rooted in the mission of the Church, the Principal fosters a faith-filled environment that promotes academic excellence, moral development, and service to others. The Principal works in collaboration with the Pastor, faculty, staff, parents, and parish community to ensure the integration of Catholic values throughout all aspects of school life.

Spiritual Leadership:

  • Uphold and promote the mission and philosophy of Catholic education
  • Serve as a visible witness to the Catholic faith through words and actions
  • Foster a strong Catholic identity through prayer, liturgies, sacraments, and service
  • Collaborate with the Pastor to support the spiritual development of students and staff
  • Encourage integration of faith across all curricular areas

Academic Leadership:

  • Oversee curriculum development and ensure alignment with diocesan and state standards
  • Promote high academic expectations and student achievement for all learners
  • Support instructional excellence through teacher supervision, evaluation, and professional development
  • Use data-driven decision-making to improve student outcomes
  • Ensure a developmentally appropriate program for Transitional Kindergarten through Grade 8

Operational & Administrative Leadership:

  • Manage the day-to-day operations of the school effectively and efficiently
  • Develop and implement school policies in accordance with diocesan guidelines
  • Oversee school budget in collaboration with the Pastor and finance council
  • Ensure a safe, orderly, and nurturing school environment
  • Maintain compliance with accreditation standards and legal requirements

Personnel Leadership:

  • Recruit, hire, supervise, and evaluate faculty and staff
  • Foster a collaborative and professional work environment
  • Provide ongoing formation and support for staff in both faith and pedagogy
  • Address personnel matters with professionalism, confidentiality, and compassion

Community Engagement:

  • Build strong relationships with parents as primary educators of their children
  • Promote active communication between school and families
  • Encourage parent involvement and volunteerism
  • Serve as the primary representative of the school within the parish and wider community

Development & Advancement:

  • Support fundraising efforts and advancement initiatives
  • Collaborate with parish and school organizations to ensure financial sustainability
  • Promote the school’s mission to prospective families and donors
  • Lead efforts in student recruitment, retention, and school marketing

Requirements

Qualifications:

  • Practicing Catholic in good standing with a strong commitment to the faith
  • Master’s Degree in Educational Leadership, Administration, or related field (required)
  • Valid teaching and/or administrative credential
  • Minimum of 5 years of teaching experience; administrative experience preferred
  • Knowledge of Catholic school philosophy, curriculum, and governance
  • Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills

Wage Range
The rate of pay offered to the selected candidate is based on internal pay policy and budget. New hires are commonly paid at the minimum of the wage range or within the lower part of the range. We consider a number of factors when making compensation decisions including, but not limited to, skill sets, experience, training and other department needs.
