St. Francis Xavier School is a TK-8 school serving the Burbank area. It is the mission of St. Francis Xavier School to teach and share the traditions of the Roman Catholic faith and promote academic excellence through the total development of the child. Our programs combine a mixture of the traditional and the innovative.
St. Francis Xavier School is currently seeking a principal to lead our school community. The principal will provide leadership in the following four domains:
- Academic Excellence
- Leadership and Governance
- Operational Vitality
- Mission and Catholic Identity
Preferred candidates will have experience in all domains and be able to serve as an instructional leader rooted in a well-formed Catholic identity. They will be able to effectively communicate to all stakeholders and market the school to new families, as well as retain current families. They will provide effective oversight of the budget and provide strong stewardship of school resources.
This position will work directly with the Pastor/Administrator.
Requirements
- Practicing Catholic
- Minimum 5 years of teaching experience OR 3 years working at a non-profit organization in a leadership role
- Earned Master’s Degree OR State Approved Teaching Credential
- Catechetical Certification to be completed by the first two years of leadership
This leadership is an on-site and in-person position.

Wage Range
The rate of pay offered to the selected candidate is based on internal pay policy and budget. New hires are commonly paid at the minimum of the wage range or within the lower part of the range. We consider a number of factors when making compensation decisions including, but not limited to, skill sets, experience, training and other department needs.
