Description
Our Lady of Peace School is a TK-8 School that provides an engaging learning environment, where students actively practice their Catholic faith, master rigorous academic standards under highly competent, caring teachers, learn to use their voice with confidence, and embrace a life practicing the OLP Pillars. Students are visible, valued, and respected.
We are currently seeking a school principal who will seek to fulfill priorities in the following areas of the National Standards and Benchmarks for Effective Catholic Elementary and Secondary Schools (NSBECS).
Specifically, the principal will need to be able provide leadership in moving the school forward with its current goals, including:
- Enhancing religious education and service learning by expanding Catholic Social Teaching focused projects, conducting annual grade band retreats, and improving student performance on ARK.
- Ensuring that activities in the school align with the school’s vision of manifesting “courageous voices,” “compassionate hearts,” and “intelligent minds” that actively improve the world.
- Creating a committee based advisory board of diverse stakeholders to provide collaborative and varied perspectives to the pastor and principal in supporting the school’s holistic growth and shared leadership development.
- Improving student academic achievement in the core subjects of reading and math; getting students to grade level or higher on the STAR assessments, utilizing best researched and differentiated instruction, especially for identified struggling students via STEP plans.
- Improving science instruction
- Becoming a financially self-sustaining school, independent of Archdiocese subsidies.
This position will work directly with the Pastor/Administrator.
Requirements
- Practicing Catholic
- Minimum 5 years of teaching experience OR 3 years working at a non-profit organization in a leadership role
- Earned Master’s Degree OR State Approved Teaching Credential
- Catechetical Certification to be completed by the first two years of leadership
This leadership position is an on-site and in-person position.

The selected candidate must pass an employment background check and all required training and certifications.
$71,822 – $104,922; Compensation commensurate with level of experience, relevant professional certifications, and/or degrees earned. The Archdiocese of Los Angeles offers health benefits including medical, dental, and vision and all employees are enrolled in pension benefits from the time of employment and considered vested after five years of full-time employment.
Wage Range
The rate of pay offered to the selected candidate is based on internal pay policy and budget. New hires are commonly paid at the minimum of the wage range or within the lower part of the range. We consider a number of factors when making compensation decisions including, but not limited to, skill sets, experience, training and other department needs.
