Position Overview
- Notre Dame Academy is seeking a TK–5th Leadership & Character Education Teacher for the 2026-2027 school year.
- This role focuses on helping younger students develop the habits, mindsets, and social-emotional skills that support both academic learning and personal growth.
- Through engaging lessons and structured activities, students learn about leadership, responsibility, empathy, and collaboration.
- The program integrates elements of social-emotional learning, leadership development, and character education in age-appropriate ways.
- We are looking for an educator who understands child development, builds strong relationships with students, and can create a positive and engaging learning environment that supports both behavioral growth and leadership development.
Responsibilities include:
- Plan and teach leadership and character education lessons for students in TK–4
- Foster skills such as responsibility, empathy, collaboration, and problem-solving
- Create engaging, developmentally appropriate learning experiences
- Support students in developing positive classroom and school behaviors
- Collaborate with teachers and administrators to reinforce schoolwide expectations and values
- Communicate effectively with students, families, and colleagues
- Contribute to the broader school community and student life programming
- Additional responsibilities may include supporting select school initiatives such as yearbook, student leadership projects, or communications.
Requirements
Qualifications
- Minimum of 3 years teaching experience preferred
- Teaching credential
- Strong understanding of child development and elementary classroom dynamics
- Experience teaching social-emotional learning or character education preferred
- Strong classroom management and relational teaching skills
- Excellent communication, collaboration, and organizational skills
- Comfort integrating technology into instruction
- Willingness to reflect, adapt, and grow professionally
Preferred qualifications include experience with leadership programs, SEL curriculum, or student leadership development.

Wage Range
The rate of pay offered to the selected candidate is based on internal pay policy and budget. New hires are commonly paid at the minimum of the wage range or within the lower part of the range. We consider a number of factors when making compensation decisions including, but not limited to, skill sets, experience, training and other department needs.
