St. Bernard Catholic School is seeking a dynamic and collaborative Third Grade teacher for the 2026–2027 school year. Third grade is a pivotal year where students transition from learning to read to reading to learn. The ideal candidate will strengthen student skills in reading comprehension, structured writing, and foundational math, while working as part of a cohesive instructional team.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Education or related field (required)
  • Valid teaching credential (preferred)
  • Experience in upper elementary instruction preferred

Strong background in:

  • Reading comprehension (text analysis, evidence-based responses)
  • Writing instruction (paragraph structure, grammar, written responses)
  • Math (multiplication, division, problem-solving)

Ability to:

  • Use data to inform instruction and support student growth
  • Collaborate with 2nd and 4th grade teachers
  • Support Tier 2/3 students in coordination with support staff
  • Strong classroom management and instructional skills
  • Practicing Catholic or willing to support the Catholic mission of the school
  • Commitment to a team-based instructional model and shared accountability

  • Must be a practicing Catholic in good standing
  • Demonstrates knowledge of Catholic teachings, traditions, and values
  • Models the faith through daily witness and participation in the sacramental life of the Church

Wage Range
The rate of pay offered to the selected candidate is based on internal pay policy and budget. New hires are commonly paid at the minimum of the wage range or within the lower part of the range. We consider a number of factors when making compensation decisions including, but not limited to, skill sets, experience, training and other department needs.
