Description
Cantwell-Sacred Heart of Mary High School is accepting applications for a Theology teacher for the 2024-2025 school year. The position will include the teacher to teach various Theology courses from potentially 9th-11th grade courses. Some of those courses include Scripture, Christology, Pascal Mystery, Ecclesiology, Sacraments and Life in Christ. The position also will require participation in school student retreats, assisting with school Mass, and assisting with the Christian Service program.
The position will also include 1-2 English courses in American Literature. The candidate must be comfortable to teach Theology and English as the core requirements. Also, the candidate should be comfortable and well verse in using technology and have experience/knowledge using LMS Canvas.
Requirements
-Bachelor’s degree in religious studies or other relevant academic area. A Master’s degree in Theology, Religious Studies, or Education is preferred.
-Minimum 3-5 years’ experience teaching at a Catholic high school is preferred.
-Must possess knowledge of best pedagogical practices in education.
-Familiarity with USCCB’s secondary religion curriculum framework.
-Hold Archdiocesan certification or be willing to complete the program within five years.
-Proficiency in curriculum planning, instruction, and assessment.
-Experience with academic technology and/or an enthusiastic willingness to be trained to employ new tools.

Wage Range
The rate of pay offered to the selected candidate is based on internal pay policy and budget. New hires are commonly paid at the minimum of the wage range or within the lower part of the range. We consider a number of factors when making compensation decisions including, but not limited to, skill sets, experience, training and other department needs.
