Bishop Amat Memorial High School seeks a Tennis Coach (girls & boys) for the 2026-2027 school year.
Bishop Amat Memorial High School is a four-year co-educational Archdiocesan Catholic high school. The mission of the school is to form a faith-filled community and to provide a quality education that addresses the needs of a culturally and academically diverse student body. The comprehensive instructional program flows from a college preparatory curriculum that empowers students to recognize their potential and to meet educational and life challenges in the future. MAJOR DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
- Faith & Character Integration: Lead the tennis program with a commitment to the school’s Catholic mission, intentionally fostering student-athlete spiritual growth, character development, humility, and exceptional sportsmanship both on and off the court.
- Instruction & Skill Development: Plan, organize, and execute daily practice sessions that focus on tennis fundamentals, strategic game play, and physical conditioning tailored to athletes of varying skill levels (Varsity and JV).
- Match & Logistics Management: Direct all aspects of seasonal competition, including scheduling matches, coordinating player lineups, securing court facilities, and managing team transportation in collaboration with the Athletic Director.
- Holistic Student Supervision: Maintain a safe, supervised, and disciplined environment for all student-athletes during practices, home/away matches, and travel, while actively monitoring players’ academic eligibility and personal well-being.
- Community & Parent Engagement: Serve as the primary, professional point of contact for tennis parents and the broader school community; host mandatory pre-season information meetings and maintain timely, constructive communication regarding expectations and schedules.
- Inventory & Administration: Oversee the proper care, distribution, collection, and inventory of school-issued tennis equipment and uniforms, and ensure compliance with all regional high school athletic association rules and safety protocols (including CPR/First Aid and concussion training).
SALARY/BENEFITS:
Compensation for this position is $5,000 for each season coached.
Requirements
- Dynamic Leadership: Brings strong leadership, positive energy, and excellent communication skills to the athletic department.
- Tennis Background: Possesses proven experience coaching or playing tennis, with a deep understanding of match strategy and skill progression.

Wage Range
The rate of pay offered to the selected candidate is based on internal pay policy and budget. New hires are commonly paid at the minimum of the wage range or within the lower part of the range. We consider a number of factors when making compensation decisions including, but not limited to, skill sets, experience, training and other department needs.
