St. Paul High School, a co-educational Catholic college preparatory high school in Santa Fe Springs, is considering applications for a Spanish Teacher for the 2025-2026 academic school year. The successful candidate will demonstrate a passion for the Spanish language and Hispanic cultures, a commitment to academic excellence, and a dedication to the values and mission of Catholic education.
Requirements
Qualifications and Requirements:
- Bachelor’s/Master’s degree in Spanish, Education, or a closely related field (Master’s degree preferred)
- Current state teaching certification or equivalent, or eligibility to obtain certification
- Demonstrated fluency in Spanish and a strong understanding of Spanish-speaking cultures
- Prior teaching experience at the high school level is a plus
- Strong communication, organizational, and classroom management skills
- Commitment to academic excellence and ongoing professional growth
- Strong classroom management skills, professional demeanor, and collaborative spirit
Essential Responsibilities:
- Teach a full course load of Spanish, ranging from introductory to advanced levels, in accordance with school curriculum guidelines and ACTFL standards
- Design and implement engaging, student-centered lesson plans that promote language acquisition, cultural competence, and critical thinking
- Assess student performance through varied and meaningful assessment methods
- Maintain clear and consistent communication with students, parents, and colleagues
- Participate in school-wide responsibilities, including department meetings, professional development, and liturgical events
- Actively support and contribute to the Catholic identity and mission of the school

Wage Range
The rate of pay offered to the selected candidate is based on internal pay policy and budget. New hires are commonly paid at the minimum of the wage range or within the lower part of the range. We consider a number of factors when making compensation decisions including, but not limited to, skill sets, experience, training and other department needs.
