Position Summary
The Security Supervisor is responsible for the oversight, management, facilitation of the school community’s Safety and Security measures, is familiar with ICS protocols and upholds the school and church mission statement. Reporting to the Business Manager, the Security Supervisor serves as a member of both the Operations Team and the Safety Committee, working collaboratively with the Facilities Supervisor and the Director of Information Technology. This role requires staying current on best practices in Catholic school safety and security, maintaining a highly collaborative and professional approach, and keeping school administration regularly and promptly informed of any safety or security concerns.
General Responsibilities:
- Supervise, patrol, and monitor school/church campus, and parking areas, including for after school events.
- Supervise, train, schedule, and evaluate security personnel to ensure they follow company policies and safety regulations.
- Develop a positive rapport with faculty, staff, parents, and students.
- Operations oversight: Monitor and manage security operations, including access control in collaboration with the IT Director, surveillance, and emergency response procedures.
- Incident management: Respond to security incidents and emergencies, investigate disturbances, document events, and report directly to the School Administration.
- Risk assessment: Identify and assess potential security risks and implement School Safety Measures to mitigate them.
- System and Access monitoring: Maintain and monitor security systems, such as CCTV, security cameras, check-in and check-out procedural technology (e.g. Raptor/SchoolPass), maintain school radio comms inventory and deployment in collaboration with IT department, maintain, keep and distribute key inventory in collaboration with the Business Manager.
- Policy enforcement: Ensure all security procedures and protocols are strictly followed by members of the school community, and that the school facility is secure at all times.
- Liaison: Act as a liaison between security staff, law enforcement, and the School Administration through the Business Manager. May contact law enforcement personnel as needed or authorized by school administrators.
- Reporting and documentation: Prepare and resolve incident reports, document findings, and provide regular updates to School Administration.
- Attend staff meetings, as directed and needed.
- Participate and help with major school events, as directed and needed.
- Other duties as assigned.

Classification: Exempt, 12-month, full-time employee
Compensation & Benefits: $54,500 – $75,000, based on experience. This position is eligible for full benefits.

- Familiarity with school-based emergency response procedures, safety rules and regulations concerning school campus control and security
- Knowledge and training in ICS (Incident Command System)
- Maintain knowledge of current issues and trends in school/church campus security
- Ability to work well under pressure and maintain composure under stressful situations as well as performing effectively and assertively in situations requiring tact, diplomacy, and good judgement
- Proven experience as a security supervisor or in a similar role
- Communicate effectively in oral and written form
- Professionalism, tact, and discernment when interacting with parents, staff, and students any community member
- Ability to be on their feet most hours of the work day while patrolling and monitoring the church/school campus
- Able to respond to school security/facility issues outside of regularly scheduled work hours
- Sufficient physical ability and mobility to stand, walk, or drive a golf cart on campus (when needed), to climb stairs, to stoop, bend, kneel, crouch, reach, and twist; the ability to lift, carry, push, and/or pull moderate to heavy amounts of weight
REQUIRED CERTIFICATES/LICENSES:
- Strong written and oral communication skills with an ability to effectively communicate with all stakeholders of the school.

- LA Archdiocese Livescan
- TB-clear documentation
- Possess a valid California Driver’s License
- P.C. 832.2 Certificate or equivalent
- Available to work evenings and weekends as necessary.
- Act as a role model of professionalism in a Catholic school environment.

Wage Range
The rate of pay offered to the selected candidate is based on internal pay policy and budget. New hires are commonly paid at the minimum of the wage range or within the lower part of the range. We consider a number of factors when making compensation decisions including, but not limited to, skill sets, experience, training and other department needs.
