Description

After much prayer, thought, and counsel, we the Norbertine Fathers who care for the community of Ss. Peter and Paul in Wilmington, CA have decided to reinvigorate our beloved parish school by introducing a classical teaching methodology and curriculum.

In order to make this transformation a true success for the good of our students and their families, we are seeking a new Principal. The ideal candidate will

  • Be a faithful Catholic who adheres to the teachings of the Church in their entirety and has both teaching and administrative experience;
  • Have a clear understanding of the purpose of education from a Catholic perspective, i.e., that true education is the formation of the whole person ordered toward the perfection of intellect and will and ultimately toward union with Him who is Truth and Goodness itself;
  • Have firsthand experience in the classical tradition and thus be able to provide ongoing formation and instruction to our current faculty in the area of classical pedagogy;\
  • Be a strong leader and clear communicator who can work closely with the Rector throughout this period of renewal and beyond.
  • If the candidate also has facility with the Spanish language, this would be a valuable asset.

This position is a 12 month employment agreement.

Requirements

  • Practicing Catholic
  • Minimum 5 years of teaching experience OR 3 years working at a Non-Profit organization in a leadership role
  • Earned Master’s Degree OR State Approved Teaching Credential
  • Catechetical Certification to be a completed by the first two years of leadership

Wage Range
The rate of pay offered to the selected candidate is based on internal pay policy and budget. New hires are commonly paid at the minimum of the wage range or within the lower part of the range. We consider a number of factors when making compensation decisions including, but not limited to, skill sets, experience, training and other department needs.
