Description
Our Lady of Talpa School’s Mission is to provide a transformative Catholic education rooted in the Gospel teachings of Christ and in the lives of our Vincentian founders. Talpa school is sponsored by the Daughters of Charity Foundation and partners with the Catholic Schools Collaborative. These groups provide support, guidance and funding that allow this mission to be carried out. Employment at Our Lady of Talpa School comes with certain responsibilities and expectations which are unique due to the nature of our collaboration with these partners, detailed below.
We are seeking a dedicated primary grade teacher who is committed to furthering our mission and providing a world-class educational experience for our students. The ideal candidate is willing to carrying out the following:
- Adhering to using school-approved programs and curriculum with fidelity
- ELA: Superkids (curriculum), Accelerated Reader and adaptive (TBD)
- Math: Reveal (curriculum) and Dreambox (adaptive)
- Religion: Christ our Life and ADLA standards
- Weaving differentiation and academic intervention strategies into the classroom schedule so that it occurs on a daily basis
- Working in collaboration with a grade-level team to streamline procedures, routines, curriculum, and classroom management strategies
- Building positive relationships with students, using the following
- use of visuals and other non-verbal communication of expectations
- behavior-specific praise
- turn and talks
- incentive charts to track growth and progress
- Implementing consistent, firm, and positive classroom management strategies to ensure the learning environment is calm, safe and orderly
- Maintaining open channels of communication with families via school-wide platform, Class Dojo
- Attending school-approved professional development on a regular basis
- Implementing school-wide areas of focus promptly and with fidelity
Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree
- Working towards or in possession of Basic Catechetical Certification
- Working towards or in possession of California Teaching Credential
Wage Range
The rate of pay offered to the selected candidate is based on internal pay policy and budget. New hires are commonly paid at the minimum of the wage range or within the lower part of the range. We consider a number of factors when making compensation decisions including, but not limited to, skill sets, experience, training and other department needs.
