St. Anthony School in the city of San Gabriel is seeking a faith-filled individual with a passion for growing our preschool program to join our school community as a full-time Preschool director/teacher. While we are seeking someone to take the helm of our preschool program (licensed for 2-4 year olds), we are also open to a candidate pursuing an opportunity exclusively as a full-time preschool teacher. A candidate for this position must also be open to a schedule that accommodates afterschool care for our preschoolers. Candidates must be willing to collaborate with colleagues and administration.

St. Anthony School is a welcoming Catholic community that serves children from Preschool through 8th grade. REQUIREMENTS

Under the Archdiocese of Los Angeles (ADLA) a Preschool Director/Teacher oversees the daily operations, staff, and educational programming of a Catholic early childhood center. This individual leads the instructional curriculum, ensures strict compliance with state licensing, helps manage the budget, and fosters a nurturing, faith-based environment for young learners.

Key Responsibilities

  • Serve as the primary liaison between the preschool, the parish, and school families, actively supporting the school’s mission.
  • Help facilitate tours, coordinate enrollment, and build strong, ongoing relationships with parents.
  • Conduct regular classroom observations, provide performance evaluations, and facilitate staffprofessional development.
  • Ensure full compliance with all California Community Care Licensing Division (CCLD) regulations, health standards, and safety requirements.
  • Maintain accurate records for student attendance, immunizations, and stafffiles.
  • Manage the center’s physical facility, ensuring classrooms are safe, clean, and conducive to optimal learning.
  • Develop and implement marketing strategies, in collaboration with the Principal and Pastor, to promote enrollment growth of the preschool.

Requirements

QUALIFICATIONS

Education:

  • Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood Education (ECE) or Child Development is required.
  • Must have 12 accredited units in Early Childhood Education, which includes coursework in child growth and development; child, family, and community; and program/curriculum

Experience:

  • (For director role) Prior experience in teaching and leading a licensed preschool or childcare.

Certification:

  • Successful completion of all background checks and compliance with Archdiocesan VIRTUS/Safe Environment requirements
  • 15 hours of health and safety training (can be completed through the American Red Cross as part of the hiring process)
  • Mandated Training through the California Dept. of Social Services
  • Updated Immunization Record to include TDAP, Influenza, MMR, and TB
  • Other certifications may be required based on position
  • (For director role) Requires relevant California Child Development Program Director Permits.

Faith Requirement:

  • Must be a practicing Catholic with a solid working knowledge of the Catholic faith, willing to model Christian values and teach traditional prayers.

Wage Range
The rate of pay offered to the selected candidate is based on internal pay policy and budget. New hires are commonly paid at the minimum of the wage range or within the lower part of the range. We consider a number of factors when making compensation decisions including, but not limited to, skill sets, experience, training and other department needs.
