St. Genevieve Parish schools is looking for a dynamic, hard-working individual for our Little Angels PreSchool. The Director working collaboratively with the St. Genevieve Schools Administration and Staff, Parish Priest, Preschool parents (and other Church Staff, Committees and the Congregation), the Director leads the Preschool Staff in operating the Preschool, fosters Preschool Staff development, and carries out the Preschool’s mission. The Director will plan, organize, direct, manage, and supervise programs for preschool-age children and facilitate positive relations among Preschool Staff, parents, and the St. Genevieve Parish Schools Administration and Staff. This position requires strong supervisory, leadership, and communication skills along with a warm and nurturing disposition. Must be able to work positively within a parent-participation school environment and promote an atmosphere of community and cooperation among all interested parties. The Director reports to the St. Genevieve Schools President/Principal and Executive Director and receives a written performance review from them on an annual basis.
Must meet State of California licensing requirements, including one of the following: (i) M.A. in early childhood education and two years of teaching experience in a preschool / childcare center, (ii) B.A. in early childhood education and one year of teaching experience in a preschool / childcare center, or (iii) coursework only and four years of teaching experience in a preschool / childcare center. Must have at least 3 units in a CDEV Supervisor/Admin class and demonstrate a working knowledge of current preschool /childcare center regulations and policies. Prior Preschool Director Experience is preferred. While active participation in St. Genevieve Church is appreciated, successful candidate must be conversant in and practice the Catholic faith.
The rate of pay offered to the selected candidate is based on internal pay policy and budget. New hires are commonly paid at the minimum of the wage range or within the lower part of the range. We consider a number of factors when making compensation decisions including, but not limited to, skill sets, experience, training and other department needs.
