Description
St. Mel School is seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Physical Education Teacher. The candidate will teach physical education to students in Kindergarten through Fourth grade while assisting the Athletic Director with the school’s athletic program. The ideal candidate will foster a love of physical activity, promote teamwork and sportsmanship, and support student development through athletics in a manner consistent with the Catholic mission of the school.
The candidate should be a practicing Catholic who is a positive role model.
Requirements
1) Bachelor’s Degree or Associate’s Degree
2) Previous experience teaching physical education to elementary and/or middle school students.
3) Strong classroom management and communication skills.
4) Enthusiasm for working with children and fostering their physical and social development.
5) Ability to adapt lessons for students of varying skill levels and needs.
6) Familiarity with faith-based or Catholic school environments.
7) Experience organizing school-wide physical activity events or extracurricular programs.
8) Promote student growth in physical fitness, sportsmanship, and overall wellness.
Wage Range
The rate of pay offered to the selected candidate is based on internal pay policy and budget. New hires are commonly paid at the minimum of the wage range or within the lower part of the range. We consider a number of factors when making compensation decisions including, but not limited to, skill sets, experience, training and other department needs.
