Position Overview
Saint John Eudes School seeks a dedicated, enthusiastic, and faith-filled Physical Education Teacher who will also serve as the school’s Athletic Director. This individual will teach Physical Education to students in Transitional Kindergarten through 8th grade while leading, developing, and sustaining a vibrant and mission-driven athletic program.
In alignment with the mission of Saint John Eudes School—to partner with parents to educate students in the Catholic faith, fostering committed followers of Jesus Christ—the ideal candidate will promote physical wellness, teamwork, discipline, and sportsmanship as integral components of the holistic formation of each child: mind, body, and spirit.

Requirements
Key Responsibilities
Instructional Duties:
- Plan and deliver engaging, developmentally appropriate Physical Education instruction for students in TK–8th grade.
- Teach fundamental motor skills, fitness principles, and sport-specific skills tailored to each grade level.
- Foster a safe, inclusive, and supportive learning environment where all students can grow in confidence and ability.
- Promote lifelong habits of physical activity, wellness, and stewardship of the body as a gift from God.
- Assess student progress and provide meaningful feedback on skill development, effort, and participation.
Athletic Director Responsibilities:
- Develop, coordinate, and oversee a comprehensive school athletic program rooted in sportsmanship and Catholic values.
- Organize and supervise interscholastic sports, practices, and events.
- Ensure that all athletic activities reflect integrity, respect, teamwork, and Christ-centered leadership.
- Coordinate schedules, facilities, and communication with coaches, families, and league officials.
- Support and mentor coaches in fostering positive and developmentally appropriate athletic experiences.
Community & School Engagement:
- Collaborate with faculty and administration to support school-wide events (e.g., Field Day, Jogathon, and other community activities).
- Maintain and manage PE equipment, ensuring proper use, care, and safety.
- Model professionalism, Christian charity, and respect in all interactions with students, colleagues, and families.
- Actively support and uphold the mission, vision, and values of Saint John Eudes School in all aspects of school life.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree (required).
- Teaching credential or certification in Physical Education (preferred).
- Experience teaching Physical Education at the elementary and/or middle school level.
- Strong classroom management, organizational, and communication skills.
- Demonstrated ability to engage and inspire students of varying abilities and backgrounds.
- Enthusiasm for fostering students’ physical, social, and moral development.
- Experience organizing school-wide athletic programs or extracurricular activities (preferred).
- Familiarity with Catholic education and a willingness to support the faith life and mission of the school.

Wage Range
The rate of pay offered to the selected candidate is based on internal pay policy and budget. New hires are commonly paid at the minimum of the wage range or within the lower part of the range. We consider a number of factors when making compensation decisions including, but not limited to, skill sets, experience, training and other department needs.
