Description
To foster in each student an understanding of the importance of physical activity and overall wellness; to encourage the development of lifelong fitness habits, healthy lifestyles, and positive social and emotional growth; to identify and nurture individual talents and abilities in physical performance; and to build strength, skill, coordination, agility, and teamwork through a variety of individual, partner, and team activities that support each student’s unique abilities and potential.
This position will be from Monday – Thursday.
- Deliver instruction in physical education, health, fitness, and a variety of individual, partner, and team sports that promote lifelong wellness and active lifestyles.
- Teach and reinforce citizenship, character development, and state-adopted academic standards through physical education and related activities.
- Collaborate with faculty and staff to design and implement a comprehensive and balanced physical education program.
- Differentiate instruction to meet the diverse learning needs, abilities, and developmental levels of all students through individual, small-group, and whole-class activities.
- Ensure a safe learning environment by providing safety instruction, enforcing established procedures, and responding appropriately to emergencies.
- Establish and maintain clear expectations for student behavior, sportsmanship, and participation to foster a positive and productive learning environment.
- Assess and monitor student growth in physical fitness, motor skills, knowledge acquisition, teamwork, and overall participation.
- Communicate effectively with parents, teachers, and administrators regarding student progress, achievements, and areas for growth.
- Identify student needs and collaborate with school personnel and families to support students’ physical, social, emotional, and academic development.
- Supervise students during lunch, recess, and other assigned school activities to ensure safety and positive student interactions.
- Participate in school events, professional development opportunities, and other duties as assigned by the principal or supervisor.
- Perform additional responsibilities that support the mission, goals, and daily operations of the school as directed by administration.

Requirements
- Demonstrates a genuine passion for working with children and supporting their growth and development.
- Highly organized, enthusiastic, and committed to fostering a positive and nurturing learning environment.
- Possesses strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to engage effectively with students, families, and colleagues.
- Bachelor’s degree in Physical Education, Education, or a related field preferred.
Wage Range
The rate of pay offered to the selected candidate is based on internal pay policy and budget. New hires are commonly paid at the minimum of the wage range or within the lower part of the range. We consider a number of factors when making compensation decisions including, but not limited to, skill sets, experience, training and other department needs.
