St. Elisabeth School is a Catholic school serving students in Preschool through Grade 8 in the Archdiocese of Los Angeles. We are committed to providing a faith-filled, nurturing, and high-quality education that develops the whole child—academically, socially, and spiritually.
We are currently seeking a dedicated and nurturing TK/Kindergarten Instructional Aide (Part-Time) to join our early childhood education team. The ideal candidate will support the lead teacher in creating a safe, engaging, and Christ-centered classroom environment where young learners can thrive.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist in the implementation of daily lesson plans and age-appropriate learning activities
- Supervise students during classroom instruction, outdoor play, and meal times to ensure safety and well-being
- Provide individualized or small-group support to students who need additional guidance
- Help maintain a clean, organized, and welcoming classroom environment
- Model Christian values and contribute to a positive, respectful, and collaborative school community with staff and families
Requirements
Education:
- Must have completed at least 12 semester units in Child Development or Early Childhood Education
- Core coursework should include:
- Child/Human Growth and Development
- Child, Family, and Community
- Program/Curriculum
Experience:
- 1–2 years of classroom experience preferred, ideally in early childhood education
Training Requirements:
- Must have completed (or be willing to complete) Live Scan fingerprinting
- Must complete VIRTUS “Protecting God’s Children” training through the Archdiocese of Los Angeles
- Certifications (Preferred):
- CPR and First Aid Certification
- Child Development Associate (CDA) Credential
Skills & Attributes:
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
- Warm, patient, and nurturing presence
- A good sense of humor and genuine joy in working with preschool and TK-aged children
- Ability to collaborate effectively with teachers, staff, and families
- Willingness to take initiative and support instructional leadership during reading instruction
Wage Range
The rate of pay offered to the selected candidate is based on internal pay policy and budget. New hires are commonly paid at the minimum of the wage range or within the lower part of the range. We consider a number of factors when making compensation decisions including, but not limited to, skill sets, experience, training and other department needs.
