Join Our School Team as a Part-Time Elementary Music Teacher (TK-8th Gr)!
Are you passionate about music education and making a difference in the lives of young students? Our Catholic school is seeking a dedicated Part-Time Elementary Music Teacher to join our team in Pasadena, CA. As a Part-Time Elementary Music Teacher at our school, you will have the opportunity to inspire and educate students in a supportive and nurturing environment. Join us in fostering a love for music and helping students reach their full potential! The schedule is currently set for Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday (flexible and open to adjustment).
Requirements
Daily/Weekly Responsibilities:
- Plan and deliver engaging music lessons for elementary students from TK-8th
- Collaborate with classroom teachers to integrate music into the curriculum
- Organize and lead school performances and concerts (Christmas Pageant and Spring Spring Concert), including musical theater production (in April)
- Assess student progress and provide feedback in music
- Communicate with parents about student achievements and progress
- Direct and Lead the student-led Children’s Choir of the school (K-8th Gr students) for Mass and other special events/performances
- Plan, Prepare, and Play Piano at Catholic Church Mass with Choir at weekly Mass (Tuesday mornings) and one Sunday Mass (9AM) per month
Required Skills:
- Experience in small group instruction
- Proficiency with Computer technology (SMART Board & iPads)
- Strong communication skills with parents
- Knowledge of elementary education principles, especially with music and various instruments
- Ability to implement instructional strategies to a diverse school community (TK-8th)
- Must be able to play piano during our Catholic Mass each week – Know Mass Settings, Catholic Song standards, and play newer Catholic/Christian music
Nice to Have Skills:
- Experience with Common Core State Standards in VPA/Music
- Familiarity with Differentiated Instruction
- Background in Writing & Creative Project Planning to support music instruction
- Knowledge of Early Childhood Education, especially in music instruction
- Experience with Lesson Planning and teaching multiple instruments
Technical Skills:
- Proficiency in Google Classroom
- Experience with Arts and Crafts activities to support music education
- Teach multiple instruments basics to students of varying skill levels
- Knowledge of Classroom Management techniques
Salary and Benefits:
- Part-Time Pay ranges from $22/hr to $27/hr D.O.E.

Wage Range
The rate of pay offered to the selected candidate is based on internal pay policy and budget. New hires are commonly paid at the minimum of the wage range or within the lower part of the range. We consider a number of factors when making compensation decisions including, but not limited to, skill sets, experience, training and other department needs.
