Description

Our Lady of Victory Catholic School is seeking a dedicated, joyful, and faith-filled Part-Time Middle School Math and Science Instructor to join our team for the 2026–2027 school year. The instructor will create an engaging, structured, and student-centered learning environment that promotes academic excellence, curiosity, and faith formation for middle school students.

The ideal candidate will have a passion for helping students develop strong mathematical reasoning, scientific inquiry skills, and critical thinking while fostering confidence, creativity, and a lifelong love of learning. This educator will embrace Project-Based Learning (PBL) by designing meaningful, real-world learning experiences that encourage collaboration, innovation, and problem-solving while integrating Catholic values into the learning process. The instructor will work collaboratively with colleagues and families to support each student’s academic, spiritual, social, and emotional growth.

Requirements

  • Implement the school’s adopted curriculum, Illustrative Math, with fidelity in middle school mathematics.
  • Design and facilitate engaging, standards-based lessons that promote conceptual understanding, scientific inquiry, and mathematical reasoning
  • Incorporate Project-Based Learning (PBL) experiences that connect mathematics and science to authentic, real-world challenges and encourage collaboration, creativity, communication, and critical thinking
  • Provide hands-on STEM learning opportunities through experiments, engineering challenges, investigations, and interdisciplinary projects
  • Differentiate instruction to meet the diverse learning needs and readiness levels of all students
  • Utilize formative and summative assessments to monitor student progress and guide instructional decisions
  • Foster a classroom culture that encourages curiosity, innovation, collaboration, and respect
  • Maintain a safe, structured, and faith-centered learning environment
  • Collaborate with faculty to ensure instructional alignment and student success
  • Communicate consistently with parents regarding student progress, classroom expectations, and academic growth
  • Integrate instructional technology to enhance student engagement and learning
  • Track and analyze student growth using a variety of assessment tools
  • Participate in faculty meetings, professional development, school events, and other duties as assigned by the principal

Candidates should:

  • Have a minimum of 3 years of teaching experience, preferably in a Catholic school setting
  • Hold a Bachelor’s degree in Education, Mathematics, Science, or a related field (Master’s degree preferred)
  • Hold or be working toward a California Teaching Credential
  • Demonstrate strong content knowledge in middle school mathematics and science
  • Have experience implementing or a willingness to learn Project-Based Learning (PBL) and inquiry-based instructional practices
  • Be enthusiastic about Catholic education and committed to supporting students’ academic and spiritual formation
  • Possess excellent classroom management, organizational, and communication skills
  • Be collaborative, flexible, dependable, and proactive
  • Inspire students through engaging instruction, meaningful relationships, and innovative learning experiences

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience implementing Project-Based Learning (PBL) or interdisciplinary STEM projects
  • Experience teaching integrated STEM or engineering design challenges
  • Experience using student assessment data to drive instruction and intervention
  • Familiarity with technology-rich instruction and educational software
  • Illustrative Math experience is a plus, but not required

Wage Range
The rate of pay offered to the selected candidate is based on internal pay policy and budget. New hires are commonly paid at the minimum of the wage range or within the lower part of the range. We consider a number of factors when making compensation decisions including, but not limited to, skill sets, experience, training and other department needs.
